Tae Kwon-Do is the most widely practiced martial art in the world. This program develops focus, confidence, self-control, discipline, and respect for others. Students work on anti-bullying, how to de-escalate a potential threat, and if needed, how to defend themselves. We strive to create a supportive, fun and very challenging environment for our students. Classes are taught by our staff of certified instructors. Families are encouraged to train together! Beginning students through 1 year of training will be taught fundamental techniques: stances, strikes, kicks, basic self-defense, fundamental exercises, and the first 3 patterns in the ITF TKD system. Intermediate students with 1 - 4 years of training will develop additional skills and higher-level techniques in striking, kicks, patterns, sparring, self-defense, and breaking. Jiu-Jitsu and Hapkido are also into the curriculum at the intermediate level. Advanced students with 4+ years of training will learn the importance of dedication and hard work, while honing and mastering their skills and techniques. Uniforms, test fees, and equipment are charged separately and handled with The Midwest Academy of Tae Kwon-Do.
