<div>Afternoon Enrichment allows students to explore various learning topics in-depth. They engage in hands-on activities to expand their skill sets and the topics change each session. Participants will first meet for lunch and enjoy playtime with new friends, then they will go to their lab class. Please send a peanut-free lunch. Afternoon Enrichment does not meet on days that preschool is not in session. If your child is not enrolled in the park district preschool and has allergies that require an Epi-pen or asthma with an inhaler, please email Sara Cass at scass@napervilleparks.org to complete the necessary paperwork at least 5 days before the start of class. No class Jan. 19, Nov. 24 and March 9. (sc)</div><div><br></div><div>Art</div><div>Children use a variety of art mediums to create expressive art projects that align with stories, games, songs and finger plays.</div><div><br></div><div>Early Literacy</div><div>Children are exposed to a wealth of books and stories. They are introduced to beginning literacy skills including letters, sounds and sight words through hands-on activities. A child's love of reading is fostered in order to develop a life-long passion for books.</div><div><br></div><div>Math</div><div>Through hands-on activities, children explore sorting, patterns, measuring, number recognition and more.</div><div><br></div><div>Social Studies</div><div>Children will explore the world around them beginning with the child and then expanding outward to family, neighborhood and community. Children will explore topics such as emotions, transportation, community helpers, caring for our world and time (before, now and later). </div><div><br></div><div>Science</div><div>Children explore the world of science by conducting hands-on experiments. Things get messy so please dress them appropriately. </div><div><br></div><div>Tinkering</div><div>Through open-ended, hands-on exploration of materials and tools, children will experiment to figure out how things work, foster creativity and innovation, strengthen problem-solving skills and learn through play. </div><div><br></div><div><br></div>
