This program is designed to improve each child's swimming skills at his or her own pace. Swimmers are placed by skill level and each participant learns water safety skills appropriate to their level. Level 5 students learn sidestroke and elementary backstroke as a building block to learning butterfly and breaststroke. In addition to their application in future levels, these strokes are integral to water safety/survival skills. Students learn to refine water treading techniques Class size is generally a maximum of 5 students per instructor. Make up classes, only due to facility closures, will be conducted on the Thursday and Friday of the 2nd week of the session. (cj)
