Start with a 1.5 hour private charter paddlewheel boat ride down a quiet and peaceful section of the Fox River. Learn about the history of the St. Charles area. Lunch on board will be served on the lower deck. Bagged lunch choices are a ham sub sandwich or turkey sub sandwich with chips, cookies and a drink. If you have dietary restrictions, please choose the applicable option during registration. Although there are nice views from the lower level and bow, head to the upper deck after lunch (12-15 steps) for a more expansive view. Visit the 1843 Durant-Peterson House museum. Docents dressed in period clothing will bring the group back in time to experience what life was like living on the Illinois Prairie in the late 1800s. Partake in an heirloom apple sampling. Learn the history of apples around the world and how apples became a vital part of pioneer life. There will be a variety of heirloom apples to taste and compare.
