1. Register for a Lifeguard Pre-Test Choose the correct season and activity code: • Fall: Activity #380303 • Winter: Activity #180303 • Summer: Activity #280302 2. Pass the In-Person Pre-Test 3. Complete Online Coursework Must be finished before attending in-person training. 4. Attend In-Person Training • Course Fee: $300 • Fee is due on the first day of training. Be 15 years old by the last day of the course (Valid photo ID required). 2. Successfully complete the Swim–Tread–Swim Test: o Swim 150 yards o Tread water for 2 minutes without using hands o Swim an additional 50 yards 3. Pass the Brick Retrieval Test: o Swim 20 yards o Retrieve a 10 lb. brick from deep water o Return 20 yards while carrying the brick o Exit the pool without assistance ________________________________________ Additional Information • Course Fee Reimbursement: You may be eligible for a full refund of the $300 course fee if employed by the Park District and meet the required work terms: o $150 after one successful summer of employment o $150 after a second successful summer Course Format: Blended Learning – includes: o 6 hours of online learning o 21.5 hours of in-person training ________________________________________ Why Train With Us?
