Deerfield HS · Deerfield, IL
Our Senior Program is designed to incorporate the training needs of all high school age swimmers. There are 2 groups within the Senior Program (Silver & Gold) and swimmers must adhere to the practice standards and schedule for their assigned group. Both groups will have in-water and dryland workouts, and swimmer progression will be a major theme. Technical skills, race strategy, goal setting, time management and mental and physical health will be targeted lessons throughout each season. Please refer to the COHO website for the standards and requirements for each group. The Head Senior Coach will have the final say on group placements. Silver is designed to incorporate the training needs of all high school and pre-high school swimmers preparing to swim in high school or wanting to stay fit in the water. Gold is our highest training level and with that comes standards and requirements to be invited into the group. Gold swimmers will practice advanced stroke mechanics and race strategy to prepare them for the highest competitive levels of the sport. Swimmers not starting until after their HS spring sport ends should register for section 03 or 04. No other pro-rating is available. Due to the DHS water polo schedule, there is not a general schedule for practices at DHS. Monthly schedules will be posted on the COHO website. Our Senior program offers 2 competitive levels (Silver and Gold) designed to advance swimmers into an elite environment where technical skills, goals, and grit are practiced daily. Swimmers in competitive levels will have required standards that must be met to move up through the groups. Commitment to the sport is a must at these levels. *Please note there is an additional USA Swimming registration fee required for this level.
