47th Annual Freedom Classic 5K Run (FOR 2025 RUNNERS ONLY) Dress in your red, white, and blue and spark your Independence Day spirit on our certified USATF course. Take off down Recreation Drive, cruise through scenic Loch Lomond, and race toward the finish at Keith Mione Community Park. Using our new timing company, we are proud to provide the best to all our participants in this professionally chip-timed event. Join the fun! Register online at mundeleinparks.org. The first 550 participants will receive a race t-shirt; all others may claim tee-shirt in weeks following the race—sign up by June 1 to guarantee your size! There is a $100 cash prize for the 1st overall male and female finishers, plus medals for 1st–3rd place finishers in each age group. Complete the morning by watching the youngest feet compete in our FREE Firecracker Kids Race at 9 AM! Ages 10 & under can dash to the finish for a freeze pop and a medal—no registration required. Celebrate your young runner with a limited-edition race t-shirt available for purchase surrounding the race all proceeds benefiting the Mundelein Parks Foundation for programming scholarships. All fees are non-refundable in the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. By registering, participants acknowledge and agree to this policy.
