The 7th and 8th grade league provides players an opportunity to continue developing their basketball skills and showcase what they have learned through their years of basketball. At this stage, game scores as well as league standings are kept. This leads to a single elimination tournament to end the season. The emphasis in this league continues to be sportsmanship, skill development, participation, and fun, but competition is embraced teaching players how to win and lose with grace. This league uses a full-size court and an official-size basketball. Two referees are assigned to each game. All players receive a team jersey and participation medal. Mandatory Skill Day: November 1 from 9:30-11 am at the Sullivan Community Center. Players not attending skill day will not be included in the team draft. They will be randomly assigned once teams are formed. Coach/friend requests are not honored. Practices begin the week of December 1 at local schools. Leagues will play 8 games plus an end-of-season tournament on Saturday mornings/afternoons beginning in January. Occasionally, Friday evening games may be scheduled.
