Northbrook Cmty Ctr Cplx
The Counselor in Training (CIT) Program is designed for teens who are interested in developing leadership skills, gaining hands-on experience, and preparing for future employment opportunities. Each week begins with a training session at the Northbrook Community Center, where participants will explore topics such as leadership development, interviewing skills, activity planning, behavior management, and more. After training, CITs will be placed at one of our day camps for campers ages 5–7. There, they will assist staff with daily activities, lead games and crafts, and support campers during field trips. This unique experience allows participants to practice teamwork, responsibility, and problem-solving in a fun and supportive environment. CITs will leave the program with valuable skills that look great on a resume and may even lead to a future paid position as a camp counselor.
