The Joliet Park District's swim lesson program is based on the American Red Cross curriculum. The Swimming and Water Safety program teaches people how to be safe in, on, or around water and teaches individuals of different ages and abilities how to swim. The program covers the knowledge and skills needed for aquatic skill development. As participants develop these skills, they will become safer and better swimmers. All of our swim lesson sessions include eight 30 minute sessions. There are no make-up lessons available for students that miss class. All new swimmers to the Preschool Aquatics and Learn To Swim programs MUST complete an initial evaluation to determine the appropriate level for them to register for. Parent and Child Aquatics programs do not require an initial evaluation. Initial Evaluations are $5 and are non-refundable. Once the evaluation is completed the swimmer can register for their assigned swim lesson level.
