The Naperville Park District has partnered with the National Football League to offer this flag football league where players learn the game of football in a safe setting. Program emphasizes positive coaching and provides an environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed. Teams typically practice two nights weekly prior to the start of the game schedule and one night weekly once games begin. Practices take place between the hours of 4:00-7:00 p.m. for approximately 60-75 minutes. Participants play a seven-game schedule on Friday nights or Sunday afternoons beginning September 5. All games are played in Naperville at Commissioners Park, Nike Sports Complex, Knoch Park or Prairie Park. Volunteer parent coaches are needed. Players are contacted by their coach with the time of their practice during the week before the first practice. Each player receives an NFL team reversible jersey and an official NFL FLAG belt. Players must provide their own mouthguard. (ba)
