Kendo, the Japanese martial art of bamboo fencing, emphasizes patience, discipline, and respect. Practitioners wear traditional samurai attire and use shinai (bamboo swords) to strike specific areas, accompanied by a kiai (spirit shout). This class is suitable for all skill levels focusing on building a strong foundational technique. Additional Information A one-time non-refundable $150 fee ($100 initial registration for the Kendo club and $50 bamboo sword) is due to the instructor on the first day of class for all new members. If you own a bamboo sword, the $50 fee can be waived but the $100 initial fee is still required.
