See city bats and talk to bat scientists while helping collect real bat data! Bring a foldable chair and a snack to enjoy at nearby Arrigo Park and we'll bring the bat monitoring equipment. We will meet at the library for a brief info session then walk over to Arrigo Park. A different topic will be discussed at each session. The UIC Bat Lab, led by Dr. Angeles Salles, Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences and Neuroscience at the University of Illinois Chicago, investigates how bats use sound to navigate their environment and communicate with one another, and how they process these signals. Dr. Salles and members of her lab will be leading the information sessions and bat acoustic outing at Arrigo Park. You can find more information about the lab at www.salleslab.com For adults, teens and kids 6 and up. Accessibility Need sign language interpretation or other accessibility assistance for this event?
