Baba Yaga’s Stew brings fun, free contra dances to Chicago parks—with irresistible grooves, soaring melodies and bubbling laughter. No experience or partner necessary–there will be a caller who will teach each dance so anyone can jump in! Experienced dancers will help newcomers, and neighbors will get a chance to experience their park in a new way. The band plays songs from all over the world, Ireland, Thailand, Romania, Peru, India and more, celebrating the diverse ethnic heritage of the United States. With Baba Yaga Stew's music, people will come together in neighborhood parks along the long lines of the dance!
