Discover how easy seed starting/gardening can be with soil blocking. A simple method that replaces plastic see trays and grows stronger, healthier plants. Soil blocks are compact cubes of soil that encourage natural root growth, reduces waste and make gardening simple for everyone-no prior experience needed. Residents will take home their own soil blocks, either pre-germinated or freshly pressed during the workshop, giving every participant a practical start to growing vegetables or flowers at home with very little space or effort. This program brings residents outdoors, teaches practical skills and reconnects families with real nature, real color and real involvement in their community landscape. Please bring simple trays or platforms that can hold water to be able to take home and bottom water the soil blocks. Trays with lower lips are preferred for airflow.
