6U & 8U Rec Hockey League Hockey is a very skilled sport, and our goal is to make practices fun and engaging while providing each player with the confidence and direction they need to develop necessary skills through a balanced curriculum of hockey drills and activities. 6u/8u Hockey is a recreational league instructed and co-sponsored by the Springfield Park District and the Springfield Youth Hockey Association (SYHA) that is designed for players who have successfully completed our Learn to Play Hockey program.*PLAYERS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT. REGISTRATION DEADLINE is Wednesday - September 25, 2026. Make-up sessions will not be provided in the event of inclement weather or maintenance issues resulting in cancellation. Dates and times are subject to change. THERE WILL BE NO PROGRAM ON NOVEMBER 28th, 2026, February 13th 2027 and THE WEEK(S) OF THANKSGIVING, CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR'S. REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS (PLEASE REVIEW & FOLLOW): 1. Players must be a member of USA Hockey. To register visit; www.usahockeyregistration.com. Players must be registered for both Practice (340401-03) and Game (340401-04).
